I can't say that this is a true solution to this issue as its only been a few days, so I won't be returning the new ones. Am trying to update my firmware on Beats Solo 3. Now that the beats are working I kinda feel like I wasted my money on the Bose. Tried to reset everything, but it doesn’t change.
As I write this, I'm using the pair of power beats 3 that I didn't feel like paying the $115 repair fee to have replaced while only receiving a 90 day warranty. Bought them yesterday and after a couple of hours playing flawless the firmware was updated to 1B56 and now there are glitches. I plugged them in to charge them and they both charged to 100%. To verify the currently installed firmware version, make sure your headset is connected to an iPhone or iPad, then go to Settings > Bluetooth.

My Beats are connected by a USB cable to my MB Air and Bluetooth is on. I tried downloading the Beats Firmware Updater but it doesn't complete the download. I put 2 sets of dead beats (power beats wireless 3 + solo wireless 2) in the freezer for a couple of days and when I took them out they both started to blink. After I updated my OS to 10.13.3, my Beats Solo Wireless headphones stopped connecting via bluetooth to my MacBook Air. I did some research and apparently lithium batteries can benefit or be "boosted" by cold temperatures. I was still ****** that I had a few unusable pairs of beats lying around due to the dead batteries. After going through the warranty process a couple of times and paying fees due to expired warranties, I recently decided to move to Bose. It ***** cause there are few headphones that match the powerbeats for working out.
